Small Things In The Grass

Small Things In The Grass utilizes a rectangular piece of cotton scrap that has been cut at, and includes frayed, distressed edges.  Wood glued to the framed panel, it’s primed twice and the painting begins!  The incidental folds and various subtleties are highlighted.  Coloration is approached cautiously, because I’m rarely sure of what the piece wants to become.

I sneak up on coloration.  I have to find it.
